We've all heard the benefits of journaling, helps us track progress, improve writing and communication skills, find inspiration, reduce stress, but what are some spiritual applications of journaling?

Journaling provides an excellent outlet for self exploration. In this, journaling can be used as a tool to kickstart a spiritual practice. We thought we could share some prompts to get you started in using journaling to explore spirit.
Allow yourself to find a quiet, empty space where you can feel comfortable sharing your feelings. Hold space for thinking deeply about these prompts, and revealing your inner self.
What patterns or behaviors did I inherit from my ancestors? How can I begin to heal them?
Is my personal space conducive to self-love and care? How may I transform my sacred space to be more inviting?
What can I learn from nature? Do I spend enough time in nature?
Am I afraid of spending time alone?
Where can I find more balance in my life?
What would I tell my past self?
If I could go back in time and ask one question to an ancestor, what would I say?
What are some ways I can honor my culture?
When you are journaling, always keep in mind whether you are being honest and if you can delve deeper. By considering this, journaling can be conducive to self discovery and growth.
Additionally, feel free to implement any of your own personal spiritual practices into your journaling. For myself, I enjoy exploring the indigenous practices of my ancestors, using tarot cards as visual exploration, and more.
What are some ways you can incorporate your ancestry into your journal? Do you consider yourself spiritual?
We'd love to foster a community discussion on this topic! If you'd like, feel free to even comment on some thoughts on these prompts and what you felt when reading them!
